August 2018 // Book Haul & TBR

Hello All!

August was a pretty good month for me! I didn’t get to all the books that I wanted to, but I did read some that I was really excited for.

Book Haul:

  • The Raging Ones – Krista and Becca Ritchie
  • The Darkest Legacy – Alexandra Bracken
  • Through the Dark – Alexandra Bracken
  • The Bird and the Blade – Megan Bannen (Shelflove Crate)
  • Sanctuary – Caryn Lix
  • Sleeping Giants – Sylvain Neuvel
  • Dance of Thieves – Mary E. Pearson
  • That Hideous Strength – C. S. Lewis
  • Light Years (ARC) – Kass Morgan

I had already planned on getting a few of these books, either because I read them as an ARC or I figured they were coming in a book box. There were a few that I just heard really good things about them and picked them up. Big thanks to the NOVL for hosting a giveaway in which I won a copy of Light Years. I’m so incredibly excited to pick it up!

August Reads:

  • Catching Fire (Audiobook) – Suzanne Collins
  • Mockingjay (Audiobook) – Suzanne Collins
  • Sadie (ARC) – Courtney Summers
  • Mortal Engines – Philip Reeve
  • Harbinger – Nicole Conway
  • The Darkdeep (ARC) – Ally Condie & Brendan Reichs

Out of my original TBR for this month, Sadie was the only one I actually read. I’ve started to listen to Podcasts and Audiobooks at work because my office is so quiet, and I quite enjoyed these two. I started Delirium but I let it drop off around half an hour into it. When I went to see The Darkest Minds, I was reminded that Mortal Engines comes out this December in theaters and I just had to read it. Harbinger was a last minute addition as I found out that I would be on the blog tour just a few days before my post was due. The Darkdeep was given graciously to me as an ebook from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for a review.

September TBR:

  • The Paper Menagire and Other Stories  -Ken Liu
  • Seclusion – Jacqui Castle
  • Light Years (ARC) – Kass Morgan
  • Illuminae – Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff
